to launch a new design
Novotel chose Sundukovy Sisters to redesign the hotel chain.
Russian interior design studio Sundukovy Sisters won an international competition to create a new design for the Novotel hotel chain.
International hotel chain Novotel has announced the result of the contest with four international teams of designers selected. Now they will have to radically rethink the design objects Novotel worldwide and turn the brand known for its stringent standards into the leader of the hospitality industry in the midscale segment.
Along with Sundukovy Sisters (Russia), world-class design studios RF Studio, Hypothesis and Metro will implement the new design solutions for Novotel.
Four different concepts will give owners and franchisees of Novotel properties the flexibility to choose and adapt exactly the style that best suits the unique character of the hotel location.
“Novotel has embraced a new vision in terms of hotel design,” says Nadège Keryhuel, Vice President, Novotel brand. – We are excited to work with four outstanding design teams, who will help us creatively transform our hotels through a set of distinct visions of modern, premium hospitality”.
During the global pitching, the design teams were asked to present a new concept of public space – a so-called social hub, equally interesting for locals and guests. In addition, the contestants had to demonstrate a modern and intuitive design using high quality and sustainable materials.
The winning concepts will be brought to life in hotels around the world.
“In our Novotel concept we combine business and pleasure to create modern and unique coliving spaces filled with lively communication and unwavering comfort,” – say the founders of the Sundukovy Sisters agency Ira and Olga Sundukovy. Design by Sundukovy Sisters is already reflected in the Novotel Paddington London and will soon be available in projects such as Novotel Dubai Al Barsha, Novotel Moscow Comcity, Novotel St. Petersburg Airport, Novotel Victoria Island Lagos.
More than 20 “new look” Novotel hotels are under development, including seven hotels in Russia – in Vladivostok, Moscow and St. Petersburg.
